Moon Cafe
Moon Cafe is a corner café in Vung Tau, imagined as a multi-level garden in the middle of the street. The building is a softly curving white plastered volume, pierced by a rhythm of arched openings that reveal greenery and warm light within, topped by an overhanging timber roof and hanging balconies that look down onto the street.
Inside, large trees are kept and planted in the heart of the café, growing up through the floors. Outdoor courtyards and timber decks step around them, linked by a plum-purple steel staircase, creating many different places to sit: beneath the trees, beside old brick walls, or on breezy balconies.
The indoor spaces have rough white plastered vaults and arches opening onto the garden. Timber tables and chairs, pink, yellow and green cushions and exposed brick give a rustic, warm and playful feel. Everywhere, greenery, daylight and sea breeze come together, turning each visit into an easy pause in the middle of the city.
